Sweat Equity Club ("we", "us", "our") operates the Sweat Equity Start-up Summit website and exhibitor portal. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

What we collect

  • Visitors: name, email, company and message when you contact us or register interest.
  • Exhibitors: account email, company profile, billing details processed by Stripe, and files you upload (logos, banners, pitch decks).
  • Technical data: cookies (see our Cookie Policy), IP address, browser type and usage analytics where enabled.

How we use your data

  • To run the event, process stand bookings and communicate with exhibitors.
  • To respond to enquiries and send essential service messages.
  • To improve the website and comply with legal obligations.

Legal bases

Contract performance, legitimate interests (running a business event), consent (non-essential cookies and marketing where applicable), and legal obligation.

Sharing

We use Supabase (hosting/database), Stripe (payments), Vercel (application hosting) and email providers. We do not sell your personal data.

Retention

We keep data for as long as needed to deliver the event, meet accounting requirements (typically up to 6 years for financial records), and resolve disputes.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or object to processing. Contact us to exercise these rights. You may complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).

International transfers

Where processors are outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK IDTA or adequacy decisions.
